I love the Bourne Identity. It's a smart movie starring Matt Damon and based on excellent books by Robert Ludlum, and directed by Doug Liman, who also made "Swingers" and "Go", which indicated it would perhaps me a movie friendly to my cynical (yet still adoring of a silly action movie) generation . The movie concentrates more on intelligence and is less gadget-obsessed than a lot of spy movies. It is slightly more believable as well -- even though it contains some of the more outrageous and overused devices of the spy narrative: amnesia and Swiss bank accounts.
